From the 6th of April 2012 there will be changes to the current Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) legislation, these changes will affect all landlords, and as your agent we want to make sure each and every one of you is up to date with the new policies.
Firstly, an EPC will need to be in place within 7 days of marketing your property, in place of the current 28 day time frame. Of course, as part of our service, we will organise the completion of the EPC for you, so there is no need to worry about this change in policy or any of the other changes in the legislation to do with marketing as we have them all covered!
As Part of the new legislation Domestic Energy Assessors are required to take a mandatory top up qualification if they are to continue to provide EPC's from April (as you would expect our DE assessors are all up to date with the latest accreditations).
This is in preparation for 'The Green Deal' a new scheme designed to reduce carbon emission costs by making our buildings more energy efficient, this government scheme will be implemented in October, we will bring you more information on 'The Green Deal' in the next few months to keep you up to date!
