Gatekeeper Property
Landlord Newsletter - February 2011

Gatekeeper; a busy January

Firstly may I welcome the Landlords from our new Witney branch and the new landlords from our other existing branches who are receiving our newsletter for the very first time.

We are pleased to welcome new additions to our teams, many of you may have already spoken to Alyson & Andrea who are among our new recruits, and have joined us to take up roles as customer advisors. They have both taken to the roles like 'ducks to water' and are delivering great service to tenants and landlords alike.

The merger of the existing Springfield property business into the Gatekeeper fold (announced in last months newsletter) has gone really well and we are already getting some great feedback on how we can improve systems and processes to further enhance our service to all of our customers.

In response to feedback we have received over the past few months I am happy to announce that we have organised a Landlords open evening.

The event will be an opportunity for any existing or prospective Landlords to pop along and discuss any aspects of the property market with the experienced Gatekeeper Springfield team.
Let me re-assure you that there are NO PRESENTATIONS TO SIT THROUGH!

We will however be providing refreshments including a light finger buffet for all that attend.

The Landlords Open Evening Event is on Monday 14th March 6.30-8.30pm - Held at Springfield School, Cedar Drive, Madley Park, Witney OX28 1AR.

I look forward to seeing as many of you at the event as can attend.

Market News

The private rental market is flooded with anxiety surrounding tenants that are currently in receipt of local authority or housing benefit payments.

Landlords are concerned whether rent payments will be made if benefit criteria changes and tenants support payments are ceased or reduced.

The simple answer at present is that no definitive guidelines or deadlines have been announced. Currently cases are being reviewed on an individual basis. We will of course update you with any further developments via our newsletter.

Kind Regards,

As expected January has started the year off really well. Properties are being rented quickly and to quality tenants. There are fewer tenants in the market but the lower quantity of property available means that no Landlord should have a property empty for long. If you know of a Landlord with an empty property ask them to call me and we can find them a great tenant fast!
